Lunchroom Virgin

At least I was until today. I volunteered at Paris' school today in the cafeteria. Wow, what an experience. I have never squirted so many ketchup smiley faces in all my life. (it was hamburger/chicken sandwich day w/fries.) The kids were all really sweet and very glad to have help opening their milk cartons and yogurts. I quickly figured out that one little boy never actually needed anything, he just wanted you to come talk to him. And then there were all the raise your hand so you can tattle kids. I think the words "Well, just ignore him." came out of my mouth about 20 times. Those and "walking feet please," "keep your hands to your self," and "eat your lunch."

My favorite part of the day was a conversation I had with a sweet little boy. It went like this:

Sweet Boy: Do you have a baby? Do have a baby in your tummy?

Me: Nope, I don't have a baby in my tummy.

Sweet Boy: Then why does it look like you do?

Nice, huh? And to think, I've been feeling so good about loosing 25 lbs!

I'm so sorry that that sweet little boy said that to you. You don't look like you have a baby in your tummy. I did a whole lot of nothing today. I went and exchanged a shirt for Jacob at Target and then went on a hunt for a backpack. We are going to try to find one tomorrow. Then I had lunch with Eric, his boss and wife. Then I went and window shopped at Heartworks, and Kirkland's. I found many things that I want, not need, but want. It was very different to get in and out of the car without a kiddo in tow. Have a great weekend and see you on Sunday morning.

You should have grabbed him by his sweet little shoulders and with clenched teeth taught him the lesson to never, never ask a woman if she has a baby in her tummy. One of the life lessons my mom taught me. Oh, and my students always used to ask me that, and they were in high school. Don't worry Sarah, you don't look pregnant. You look fantastic.

Rachel asked me just yesterday why my tummy was so wrinkley and funny looking. I told her it was because she, Caleb, and Rebekah had stretched it out when they were inside of it. She bust out laughing and said, "that's funny!". I just stared at her and then she proceded to tell me my belly button looked weird. Nice kid, huh!?
